What is Hydrostatic Pressure?
Hydrostatic pressure is a kind of water pressure created when water is allowed to sit against a structure. For your foundation, this typically occurs when it rains and the water table rises until it meets the foundation. This immense pressure is what can cause water and moisture to push through any cracks your foundation may have, leading to a wet basement.
Does Basement Waterproofing Paint Work?
While basement waterproofing paint can keep water from seeping through, it doesn’t work to address the cause of that water or moisture intrusion: hydrostatic pressure.
